Matt started NorthCarolinaTravels around 2010, and handed it off to Randy Foster, editor and publisher of NewBernPost.com, a New Bern-focused news website.

Insider guides to North Carolina
Randy, left, a long-time journalist with experience in news start-ups, saw an opportunity with North Carolina Travels to take journalists and marketing specialists from throughout the state and pool their resources and talents to provide a distinctive approach to travel and tourism in North Carolina.
This network provides information and insights that can only come from people who live and work in each of the communities that we cover.
In addition to their insider guides, each partnered section includes sponsored articles about restaurants, shops, entertainment and lodging venues, and other features in each community. These articles aim to provide comprehensive, useful, and interesting information about venues in each destination.
That's only part of our goal. In partnering with journalists and hyper-local, locally owned web sites, newspapers, and magazines, North Carolina Travels seeks to support local journalism throughout the Old North State. For every ad dollar spent, 75 percent goes to support the local journalists who partner with North Carolina Travels. They, in turn, provide a valuable service to their communities by continuing the vital service of local journalism.
